How to Triple your Beat Sales
Lots of producers have been askin me how I tripled my beat sales in the past 60 days. I thought about writing and selling an eBook showing all of you how to do some of the things I did, but I am too busy with my beat business. Tryna crank out 2 high quality beats a night is time consuming. I’m sure you understand. I decided to show you the secrets by simply making this informative website. Hopefully it will get really big, and I’ll make some money from people advertising on the site. I really don’t care though; I just want to be able to network with some producers who are ready to take this music thing to the next level. I’m going to break it down step by step:
Step One: Change my Mindset
The first thing I had to do was change my mindset and how I approached my business. I was always thinking about how much money I made today instead of thinking of ways to build my business for the future. There’s much more to the business than selling beats on RocBattle, MyBeatshop, and the other beat marketplaces. I decided that I was going to build my business for the future. Sure I make money from selling on the marketplaces, but I wanted to take things to the next level. I wanted to build a solid customer base. Here’s what I did next…
Step Two: Get my Own Website
Like I said before, I make good money from selling beats on the marketplaces like Roc Battle and Mybeatsshop, but it was time to take it to the next level. I started to think about the customer mindset when visiting those sites. One question popped into my mind. “Are the customers really focused on my beats when they visit these sites?” The answer was no! The customer is usually browsing through beats from many different producers. These sites are really made for the owner to make the real money, not the producers. There’s nothing wrong with that! I thank the owners of these sites for giving me an opportunity to sell my beats on their awesome sites, but I understood that I needed to find a way to get my customers to a place where they only focus on my beats! I needed my own website, but I had no idea how to build one. I could barely use a computer, so building a site was out of the question. That’s when I found my savior, a company called Bandzoogle. The company is just for artists looking to sell music. They have a simple web builder that is very easy to use. It is awesome. I built this website using Bandzoogle. I started off with two pages, a squeeze page (I’ll explain what it is later) and my beat page. The site was very easy to build, and the best part about the whole thing is that I keep 100% of the profits I get from the site and I get my money right away. I don't have to wait for the owner to pay the money out to me. It’s all hooked up to my PayPal. Click here to get a free 30 day trial at Bandzoogle and get your own website now! Having your own website is a must, and it only costs $15 a month. It will help you triple your business very quickly. You’ll understand how as you read the next couple of steps.
Step Three: Collecting Email Addresses
The key to building your business as a beat maker is to compile a list of emails from past customers and potential customers. Many beat makers do not do this. I was one of them! If you look at this website, you will see that no visitor to my website can see my beats unless they enter their email address and first name. This is called a squeeze page. I collect about 20-25 new email addresses a day from using this method. When the visitor inputs their email address it goes into my email storage account with www.icontact.com. Icontact store all of the names and email addresses for me, and give me access to many other features. A must have for a serious producer. I also uploaded email addresses from all my past customers to my Icontact account. In about a month and a half, I had an email list of 500 customers. This was the customer base I needed to take my business to the next level. Now every time I make a new beat, I email everyone on my list. If 10 people out of 500 purchase a new non-exclusive track at $20, that’s $200 bucks just for sending out an email. That’s exactly how it works for me. I get paid every time I send an email to my list about a new track I uploaded to my site! That’s not even counting exclusive beat sales. If you are wondering how I send an email to 500 people, it’s very simple. My Icontact account allows me to type an email one time, and send it out to all the customers on my list at the same time. My Icontact account costs me $9.95 per month. Very small investment considering all the benefits I get from it. Click here get a Free Trial Icontact account.
Step Four: MySpace Marketing Made Easy
If you can spare 45 minutes per night doing a technique I will show you, you will build a buzz on MySpace that will be uncontrollable. A month ago, I had 200 friends and hardly got messages about my beats on MySpace. Today, I have over 2000 friends, and I get about 30 messages a day from artists inquiring about my beats. I actually just sold an exclusive beat for $500 from a MySpace message. Sounds good right? You’re probably wondering what I did. Lol.
I got some computer software called Friend Blaster Pro. The Friend Blaster allows me to send friend requests to 400 artists looking for beats everyday. I limit it to 200 per day, because it takes about 45 minutes to complete. The software is also very easy to use, and it does everything for you. You can check out my MySpace page at www.myspace.com/bosbeats45 . If you look at the comments, you can see the buzz that’s being created. The funny thing about it is that the software only cost me $30. No monthly fee, just a one time $30 payment. Great value considering all the new customers and money it has brought to my business. Remember how I told you I send an email to my email list and get paid. It works the same with MySpace. The only difference is that instead of sending an email, I send a bulletin to all my friends anytime I post a new track. The software has made my MySpace marketing very easy. Step Five: Do it now! Stop wasting time!
Another thing I was guilty of is procrastination. I knew I had to grow my business, but I kept putting it off. It was a lot of work at first, but now it’s paying off so much. Let’s review the steps:
1. Train your mind to think of the future of your business
2. Get your own website so customers can focus on your product
3. Collect every interested customer’s email address so you can stay in contact
4. Get a MySpace Friend Blaster and use it
The longer you put things off, the more money you’re losing. You can email me at admin@hiphopbeatsforsalenow.com if you need some assistance with some of the techniques on the page, or if you just want to network or talk about the beat selling business.
